The front looks like the near side of the moon, with the Apollo 11 flag, and the back resembles the far side. with lots of craters and mountains.

Step 2. Hot glue around three of the sides of each rectangle, and press on the rectangle of the same size so you have a double-layered rectangle. Once you hot glue three sides, turn it inside out and hot glue the last side by folding in a seam. Then, you iron the edges for a polished look and to keep the glue in place.
Moon Costume DIY Costumes Under 45
Cut 1 piece of silver ribbon approximately 36″ long (you might find you need a shorter or longer piece). Use super glue to adhere the ribbon to the back side of the moon shape. This will become the shoulder straps. Then place one of the 2″ x 2″ pieces on top of the ribbon to reinforce the straps. Try on the costume and adjust accordingly.

For a more sparkly moon, spray the finished costume with spray adhesive and sprinkle silver glitter onto it. Paint the ball with a white base coat. Then paint just the important features in dark gray, like mountains and craters. Then coat the whole thing with a yellow glow-in-the-dark paint. Turn the moon into Saturn by gluing some craft foam.
