Chaenomeles × superba. A rounded deciduous shrub about 1.5m tall, with spiny branches and glossy, toothed leaves. Clusters of cup-shaped flowers are produced before and with the leaves, in shades of white, pink, orange and red, from spring to early summer, followed by aromatic green fruit that ripens to yellow.
