Mall of America rethinks food court with new 'food hall' Minneapolis
Eat Street Crossing, the new, locally led food hall coming to Nicollet Avenue, is one of this fall's most anticipated restaurant openings.But the ESC team — which includes John Ng and Lina Goh of Zen Box Izakaya, Gabriella Grant-Spangler and Ben Spangler of Bebe Zito, and beverage director Trish Gavin of Khâluna, Lat14, and Lemongrass — has kept many of food hall's details under wraps.

In the summer, the food court expands to include outdoor vendors. Hmong Village, on the city's East Side, is a similarly massive Hmong market. Opened all the way back in 1997, Mercado Central in south Minneapolis is the granddaddy of Minnesota food halls. The thriving Latino marketplace specializes in tacos, tamales, pupusas and other favorites.

The galley is the spot you go to have options. If it's a nice day out, get your meal brought to you outside and enjoy the sun, but if it's rainy or cold, come and eat inside. To call it a food court would be a disservice, it's a place with awesome pizza, incredible Hawaiian food, and insanely delicious texmex (and hopefully more to come).
