Besucher dürfen auf eigene Faust die Festungsruine erkunden. Der französische Sonnenkönig Ludwig XIV. ließ ab 1687 von seinem genialen Baumeister Vauban auf dem Halbinselberg hoch über Traben eine gigantische Festungsanlage errichten. Diese bot Lager für 12.000 Mann und 3.000 Pferde.
