Located 590km north of Perth, the park is easily accessible and all roads are sealed. Situated at the mouth of the Murchison River, Kalbarri makes the perfect base for your visit. Spectacular wildflowers can be found all year, but for the best wildflower experience, plan your visit between August and October.

Kalbarri National Park is 600km north of Perth, Western Australia. It will take you approximately 6-7 hours to drive here, so it is not a day trip destination! If you are heading somewhere further north, Kalbarri can be a great spot to explore along the way. We have stopped here on our way to Coral Bay, which is another 6 hours north of Kalbarri.

Kalbarri National Park is located 485 km (301 mi) north of Perth, in the Mid West region of Western Australia. The major geographical features of the park include the Murchison River gorge which runs for nearly 80 km (50 mi) on the lower reaches of the Murchison River.

Kalbarri National Park offers the inner gorges but also a coastal section. It wasn't as hot being on the coast and having that cool breeze meant the flies weren't as bad.
